Madge skips oz for kids

Madonna has released a recorded statement online apologising to her Australian fans for not bring her MDNA tour down under, citing her children as the reason

Madonna has released a strange video of her recorded voice online as an apology to her Australian fans for not bringing her international tour down under. Madge says it’s being away from her children for so long that is preventing her from travelling to Australia – this is the same reason she cited for not brining her last world tour to Aussie shores as well.

The announcement came on the same day her clothing line, Material Girl, was released in Australian stores, and 6 weeks after the announcement was made that the MDNA tour would not visit here.

In the strange message that was posted online, Madonna apologies to her fans for bypassing Australia for 20 years and 5 consecutive world tours.

"To all of my Australian fans I am really and truly sorry to have disappointed you," she said.

"That's something I don't feel very good about. I know the last time I was on tour I missed Australia as well. I can promise you in my heart of hearts it was my intention to come again, but like the last time my children are my first priority.

"I have two scales I have to weigh in front me of me, my job as a singer and entertainer and my job as a mother. Because my children are older I can't take them on the road with me everywhere...at the end of the year I really feel I would be an irresponsible parent if I didn't stop my tour and spend time with them.

"I know a lot of you are angry with me, upset with me, disappointed. I did everything I could, I thought long and hard about it, I thought the best thing for me to do would be to end my seven months on the road at the end of the year and not continue on with my tour so I could spend time with my children who need me."

While we can sympathise with motherly duties, there has already been backlash for the excuse, one Madonna fan saying it is “too little, too late."

The MDNA tour  which has already experienced it’s share of ups and downs will now end in Argentina on December 22.
