Madonna’s recent MDNA world tour has been tumultuous at best, and now the pop queen is being sued by a Russian assemblyman for publically supporting the LGBT community.
Originally, Madge was only fined around $150 for her onstage antics but the Russian assemblyman who originally brought in St Petersburg’s anti-gay law is suing Madonna for the “psychological stress and emotional shock” that was allegedly suffered by attendee and viewers of her recent show.
While on stage in St Petersburg, Madonna was quoted as saying “show your love and appreciation to the gay community.” Pink wristbands were distributed to attendees and Madonna wore a black bra with the words “No Fear” on her back.
The city currently has a ban on “homosexual propaganda”. The ban includes anything that includes the "propaganda of sodomy, lesbianism, bisexualism and transgenderism, and pedophilia” and was passed back in March. After hearing about the law passing, Madonna was quoted calling it a “ridiculous atrocity.”
