The world was abuzz with excitement when the rumours were spreading that George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley would reform Wham! for a one-time show, but Michael's reps have denied the claims.
The Daily Mirror had reported that an insider claimed the pair was gearing up for a "big gig" to commemorate Wham!'s anniversary.
The source said, "Things are still in the early stages but everybody is getting really excited about it."
A spokesman dispelled the claims today, saying, “I wish I could say it was true but these are just rumours. George is touring on his own and he is releasing an album. Yes, this is a denial.”
Ridgeley has been less busy than Michael since the band's split in 1986; he has only released a handful of solo albums, whereas Michael has enjoyed an illustrious solo career.
