Stevie Wonder has filed for divorce from his wife of 11 years
The legendary R&B singer Stevie Wonder has filed for divorce this week in order to end his marriage of 11 years to fashion designer wife Kai Millard Morris.
The couple, who married in 2001, have been officially separated since October 2009 and it finally looks as though reconciliation is not an option with these divorce paper finally being filed. They are citing “irreconcilable difference” as the main cause for the split.
Wonder has two children with Morris. Kailand, 10 and Mandla, 7 – as well as 5 grown children from previous relationships. The Isn’t She Lovely singer has already agreed to share custody of the two boys and has offered to pay spousal support.
Morris once owned a fashion labeled endorsed by Oprah Winfrey and sported by First Lady Michelle Obama however the label closed its doors in 2010 following some financial setbacks.
This will be Stevie Wonder’s seconds divorce and his wife is set to receive benefits from his illustrious career whether or not a prenuptial agreement was signed.
