Super Food Spotlight: Chia

Each week we'll be taking a look at a different super food. This week we're turning the spotlight on Chia seeds.
Chia seeds aren't just for growing pets anymore - they're also a super food you should be including in your daily diet.
Chia seeds are made up of 15% protein, 37% fibre, 18% omega-3 and 30% fat meaning they're a great food to keep you feeling fuller for longer and will keep your energy levels high through the day.
Their high omega-3 (omega-3s are important for cardiovascular health) content makes chia a healthy way to add the oil to your diet without eating fish daily.
Uses for chia seeds:
- Blend into smoothies;
- Sprinkle over cereal or a salad;
- Replace poppy seeds with chia seeds in recipes;
- Combine with yoghurt;
- Sprout the seeds for use in sandwiches or salad.
