Top 29 cities

Specifically focussed on cities for men to visit, AskMen's Top 29 list focuses hevaily on sporting locations and events as well as partying, eating and well known beaches.

For the tird year on a row Melbourne has pipped Sydney on the list, this year appearing at number 10 with Sydney not even making an appearance on the list!

AskMen's Australian editor Jamie Watt chalks this mostly up to the sporting factor. “Melbourne really is the city of sports" he said. “Melbourne really is the city of sports. There’s the AFL, Grand Prix, Australian Open, Boxing Day Test Cricket and Melbourne Cup to name a few. We all know men love their sport... But for the majority of Aussie men, sport is a way of life and dare I say it, in Melbourne thanks to the AFL, it’s almost a religion."

The sport trend continues with London - this year's Olympic venue - topping the list, but there are a few surprise entries as well. Tel Aviv comes in at #12 and Tianjin at #27.

With Melbourne making a name for itself as a shopping destination, we can only image it'd appear on a list of Top 29 cities for women to visit as well.
