Listen to Mike Perso on smoothfm’s More Music Breakfast Show every weekday
My vertical pallet herb garden. If you like the idea of fresh herbs in your spring and summer cooking but find yourself a bit pressed for space, you have to try this.
We got a hold of an old shipping pallet, sealed off the back with some sturdy garden cloth (available from any good garden supplies store), bought some extra wooden planks to nail on, added some potting mix and this created a vertical herb garden. All up it cost around $20!
We then planted some parsley, coriander, bunches of basil, some chives and oregano. Perfect to add these homegrown herbs into your family meals with the weather getting warmer!

Pip is a well established news journalist and has worked in broadcast media for the past eight years. She has an engaging voice and is a great addition to the More Music Breakfast Show.
While other stations in Melbourne are still talking (and talking and talking…), the More Music Breakfast Show on smoothfm 91.5 is playing more music with less talk so your drive to work is as easy as it can be … full of great music to kick start your day.
Mike Perso eases listeners into their mornings from 5.30am and is joined by journalist Pip Mooney, with the latest local and international news and a wrap of sport.
With over 20 years' radio experience, Mike juggles his radio career with family commitments, his devotion to the Carlton football club and a couple of very energetic dogs.
smoothfm’s More Music Breakfast show has some friendly banter, but as the name suggests it’s all about more music - a smooth blend of music you love from the likes of George Michael, Michael Bublé, Elton John, Adele and even Jason Mraz.
